Doodlebugs!

DOODLEBUGS! is a solitaire wargame about the British response to V-1 launches aimed at London from the French coast. The game covers the first week of Operation Eisbär, from June 13 to June 20, 1944, while the wider V-1 campaign continued until March 1945. The publisher’s overview also notes that, at the peak of the offensive, more than one hundred V-1s a day were fired at southeast England, 9,521 in total.

Key features
The player’s objective is to prevent a German victory with major propaganda value by destroying incoming V-1s before they reach London and by limiting the fires caused by impacts. The design is therefore focused on a short, tightly framed defensive episode rather than the whole campaign.
