Theme
Paper Wars #99 features Assault on Tobruk, Rommel Triumphant, 20 June 1942, a simulation of the final assault on the fortress port of Tobruk by Rommel’s Afrika Korps during the North African campaign in June 1942. The Axis forces exploit the Allied retreat after the Gazala line battles and capture Tobruk in a single day of intense action.
Game System
The game uses a hex map covering the entire Tobruk fortress and its perimeter strong points, with each hex roughly equal to 670 meters. Turns consist of double impulses representing two-hour periods, and most units are company-sized.
