Winter Offensive Bonus Pack 6

Winter Offensive Bonus Pack #6 is an Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) expansion published by Multi-Man Publishing for the 2015 Winter Offensive event.

The sixth Winter Offensive Bonus Pack contains three scenarios designed by Pete Shelling, together with two redesigned geomorphic mapboards, 10z and 17z. These boards revisit earlier ASL maps, giving them a fresh configuration through overlays specifically designed for each board. The Board 10 overlay was designed by Steve Pleva, the Board 17 overlay by Alan Findlay, while the new artwork was painted by Kurt Miller.

The three scenarios offer considerable variety, covering the Eastern Front, the Pacific Theater and the Battle of the Bulge.

SCENARIOS

WO15 – Liberation Day
Oredezh, Russia – 27 January 1944
6 turns – boards 17z + 10z

An Eastern Front engagement featuring Soviet forces attacking German defenders near Leningrad. The scenario portrays the pressure created by Soviet forces exploiting weakened German positions during the fighting and retreat around the Luga River area.

WO16 – Wildcat Strike
Saipan Town, Angaur Island – 17 September 1944
6½ turns – boards 10z + 67

A Pacific Theater scenario depicting fighting between American and Japanese forces during the campaign in the Palau Islands. The action takes place on Angaur as American forces push Japanese defenders toward the island's remaining urban areas.

WO17 – Poteau Party
Poteau, Belgium – 21 December 1944
7 turns – boards 2b + 17z

A Battle of the Bulge scenario in which German SS forces attempt to maintain the offensive around the strategically important road junction at Poteau, facing American forces of the 7th Armored Division and the 814th Tank Destroyer Battalion.

THE 10z AND 17z MAPBOARDS

A key feature of this Bonus Pack is the inclusion of two redesigned mapboards. MMP describes them as a way of giving some older boards a new spin, using overlays specifically designed for each map.

Board 10z is used in Liberation Day and Wildcat Strike, while 17z appears in Liberation Day and Poteau Party. The boards therefore have value beyond the three scenarios included in this pack.
