Overview

Yaah! Magazine #14, published by Flying Pig Games, features a complete solitaire wargame: Rattenkrieg!, designed by Gottardo Zancani.

The game simulates the brutal close-quarters fighting of the Battle of Stalingrad in 1942. Rattenkrieg! focuses on man-to-man combat and includes a robust AI system allowing the player to face an automated opponent.

The game also features an original movement mechanism based on the actual size of the counters, providing a distinctive way of determining how far a unit can move.

Rattenkrieg! is not the only gaming content included in this issue. Yaah! #14 also contains a complete expansion for The Devil's to Pay, including new counters and an alternative interpretation of the opening day of the Battle of Gettysburg.

The issue also includes new scenarios for several Flying Pig Games titles, including '65: Squad-Level Combat in the Jungles of Vietnam, Old School Tactical Volume 2, and Armageddon War.

Editorial Content

Among the main articles and subjects covered in this issue:

  • Blue Water Navy
  • Red Storm
  • Freedom! The Underground Railroad
  • Old School Tactical Volume 3
  • Long Cruel Woman
  • Radiation Dust
  • Interceptor Ace
  • U-Boot
  • The Devil's to Pay
  • The regular Peter Perla column
