Paper Wars 91

The Game: Jihad!

In Jihad!, one player commands the Islamic forces while the opposing player controls the various kingdoms and empires resisting the expansion: Byzantines, Persians, Berbers, Franks, Goths, Khazars, Sinds, and Turks.

The system recreates the campaigns of conquest and religious conversion from 632 to 732 AD on a grand strategic scale. Each turn represents five years, while units represent entire armies.

The Muslim player attempts to match or exceed the historical expansion of Islam, while the opposing side seeks to contain that advance.
