Wacht am Rhein 2 is an Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) module focused on the continuation and later phases of the Battle of the Bulge, covering the extended German offensive and the Allied counteroffensive in December 1944 – January 1945.
The module shifts from the initial breakthrough phase to more fragmented combat situations: fighting over road junctions, defending key logistical points, partial encirclements, and American counterattacks aimed at reducing the German salient. Winter conditions, snow, and movement restrictions remain central to the theater.
Game System
The module is designed for Advanced Squad Leader, the standard tactical system for WWII squad-level combat.
The scenarios heavily use ASL rules for winter conditions, forested mechanized movement, delaying actions, and Allied counterattacks. The focus is on operational friction, difficult unit coordination, and combat around critical road networks.
