Inferno

Inferno is a historical wargame from GMT Games’ Levy & Campaign series, designed by Enrico Acerbi and Volko Ruhnke. It portrays the political and military struggles of 13th-century Tuscany, where Guelph and Ghibelline factions compete for dominance over city-states such as Florence and Siena.

Historical setting

Tuscany, 1259–1261, is torn between two rival factions:

• Guelphs supporting the Papacy
• Ghibellines supporting the Holy Roman Empire

The conflict escalates through shifting alliances, urban revolts, and large-scale regional warfare.
