Wacht am Rhein is an Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) module focused on the Battle of the Bulge, the German Ardennes Offensive of December 1944 – January 1945.
The module depicts combat between American and German forces during the Wehrmacht’s last major offensive in the West. The scenarios cover the opening phase of the battle, when American units face armored assaults and infantry attacks under harsh winter conditions, including snow, fog, and operational surprise.
Game System
The module is designed for Advanced Squad Leader, the benchmark tactical system for WWII squad-level combat.
The scenarios heavily use rules for winter conditions, limited visibility, forested and hilly terrain movement, and defensive fighting against German armored thrusts. The focus is on tempo management, operational surprise, and local counterattacks.
