The Steelworks is an Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) module focused on urban and industrial combat during World War II, set within and around a heavily fortified steel production complex.

The module depicts fighting typical of the late-war European theater, where factories, blast furnaces, and industrial buildings become key defensive strongpoints. The scenarios highlight extremely close-quarters infantry combat in dense urban-industrial terrain, with multi-level structures and fortified positions turning the site into a true fortress.

Game System
The module is designed for Advanced Squad Leader, the standard tactical system for WWII squad-level combat.

The scenarios heavily use ASL rules for urban combat, building interiors, improvised fortifications, and close-quarters fighting. The industrial terrain encourages ambushes, short fire lanes, multi-level engagements, and coordinated infantry assaults.

Included Scenarios

SW-1 – Outer Plant Perimeter
Fight for control of the outer approaches to the industrial complex and initial defensive lines.

SW-2 – Blast Furnace Line
Engagement around blast furnaces converted into fortified defensive positions.

SW-3 – Assembly Hall Assault
Assault on a large industrial building used as a defensive strongpoint.

SW-4 – Yard Fighting
Combat in the open yards and internal spaces of the complex under enemy fire.

SW-5 – Control the Catwalks
Fighting for control of elevated walkways and industrial structures.

SW-6 – Final Factory Floor
Decisive battle inside the industrial core for full control of the facility.

Objective
Each scenario features historical objectives tied to the control of a strategic industrial site: capturing key buildings, holding fortified positions, or securing production zones.

Combat emphasizes control of built-up terrain and coordinated infantry assaults.
