In Fours to Heaven – Poland 1939 is an operational-level wargame covering the Polish Campaign of 1939, from the German invasion on September 1st to the end of organized fighting on October 6th, 1939.
Rather than presenting a predetermined historical replay, the game focuses on the realities of operational command: uncertainty, command limitations, coordination problems, logistics and morale.
The objective is to allow players to rewrite the campaign. Every game can therefore develop differently.
The German player must exploit superior mobility, coordination, artillery and air power to achieve a rapid operational victory before logistics and Polish resistance begin to slow the advance.
The Polish player faces a much more difficult challenge: delaying the German advance, preserving his forces, managing morale and taking advantage of opportunities in order to survive as long as possible.
The game's chit-based formation activation system creates uncertainty throughout the turn. Formations are not simply activated according to a fixed sequence.
Command and control are also central to the system. HQ ranges, chain of command, conflicting orders and units operating outside command range all influence operational decisions.
Coordination is another important consideration: committing several units to the same attack does not automatically guarantee that they will coordinate effectively.
One of the game's distinctive features is its emphasis on Polish morale.
Morale becomes a strategic resource and can be affected by events during the campaign. The fate of Warsaw is particularly significant within this system.
The game also gives considerable attention to the Polish perspective, including propaganda, morale and General Staff decisions.

Learning Scenarios
A progressive learning system introduces the game's mechanisms step by step, making the rules easier to learn despite the game's operational depth. The designer specifically describes the learning scenarios as a way of progressively introducing the rules.

In Fours to Heaven – Poland 1939 offers a distinctive approach to a campaign that is often regarded as historically predetermined. By placing command, morale, coordination and operational friction at the center of the game, VUCA Simulations focuses less on reproducing a fixed historical sequence and more on recreating the challenges faced by German and Polish commanders.
A wargame aimed at players who enjoy detailed historical campaigns, decision-making under uncertainty and operational situations in which even the best-laid plan can quickly be disrupted by events on the battlefield.
