Overview

1809: Talavera is the second volume in Tactical Workshop's Fix Bayonets! tactical Napoleonic series.

The game recreates the two days of the Battle of Talavera (27–28 July 1809), where Sir Arthur Wellesley's Anglo-Spanish army confronted the French forces. One player commands the Allied army while the other leads the French. The game can also be enjoyed solo by playing both sides.

Designed to combine historical accuracy with accessible gameplay, the system emphasizes:

• artillery support;
• meaningful historical decisions with high replay value.

The Fix Bayonets! System

Units are represented primarily at battalion level, supported by leaders, artillery batteries and specialist formations. The common series rules allow players to move easily between titles while preserving each battle's historical character.
