Leibstandarte Pack 5: Scorched Earth is an Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) scenario pack covering operations of the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler on the Eastern Front during 1943. The module focuses on actions fought after the Third Battle of Kharkov and during the period following the Battle of Kursk, as German forces attempted to slow the growing Soviet offensives.

The pack features classic Eastern Front engagements including village fighting, assaults against fortified positions, mechanized operations, and armored counterattacks across the Ukrainian steppes. The scenarios illustrate Germany’s gradual transition from offensive to defensive warfare.

Game System
The module is designed for Advanced Squad Leader, the standard tactical system for WWII squad-level combat.

The scenarios emphasize combined-arms warfare involving infantry, armor, and heavy support weapons. Vehicles commonly include Panthers, Panzer IVs, StuG IIIs, T-34s, and Soviet anti-tank guns. Combat takes place in open terrain, fortified villages, and agricultural areas.
